I arrived here in Chicago yesterday afternoon. On my way down here I was fortunate to stop by in Rockford and visit a super friend of mine! Always great to catch up with friends when we see each other so irregularly.
I was almost to my friends' place when I was about to make a left turn and nearly got myself in a very very very bad accident. It was my fault and I take the blame; however, I am just so thankful and relieved that the other vehicle did not hit me. We both drove away. He was very angry.
So, I did make it to K&J's safely and had a wonderful afternoon before other friends came over to enjoy some burgers before we headed out to a fantastic live theatrical production of Peter Pan. The play was performed in a tent of sorts on a circular stage with the help of video graphics on the wall of the facility and contraptions to help the characters fly. Was a unique and interesting way to see such a play.
It was an all-around good day (minus the near mishap) and will continue to enjoy Chicago while I'm here! Not sure where to next or when, but if anyone has suggestions, let me know!
In my life I encounter numerous opportunities for adventure! These experiences are too wonderful not to share!
Come join my adventures!

Tomorrow
It has been awhile since I went out on one of my adventures. However, tomorrow I will begin one again.
As I wait to be invited to go to Africa for the Peace Corps in April, I will head out on the road seeking whatever finds me first.
First stop, Chicago.
Tomorrow I will go to Chicago to stay with friends and begin the first leg of this journey. Follow me on here as I go!

What Am I Doing Next?
To tell you the truth, I have no idea.
Back when I still resided in San Antonio, my plan for the summer was to be in Austria. Unfortunately, I was unable to take that trip. Therefore, I have been feeding calves here on my family's farm since March.
At the end of March, I started thinking about the next steps in my life. The conclusion I came to was to apply for the Peace Corps.
I submitted my Peace Corps application in the beginning of April, received more paperwork to fill out at the end of the month, and then headed to Chicago on May 23rd for my interview. On June 3, I was officially nominated to become a volunteer in Sub-Saharan Africa doing Agriculture Extension work. I am currently in the process of finalizing my dental and medical exams.
I am on my way to becoming a Peace Corps Volunteer, however, the service project I've been nominated for has a departure time next April 2012. So, what do I do for the next ten months?
My parents are bidding for my time to stay on as calf feeder until August, I have been requested to help out again at the Wisconsin State Fair, and I have amazing friends all across the U.S. that I'd love to live near.
Next week I know I will be in Wisconsin Dells for the National Jersey Convention, but after that...No Clue! Will I stay here at home, find a real or temporary job out in the world, work at State Fair, or become homeless and bike/walk/hitch-hike aimlessly across the countryside?
If you have a super exciting job, activity, or project that you think I should spend my time doing, let me know!! I am so ready for my next adventure!!
